Not Your TypicalToastmaster℠ is used to describe my journey into Toastmasters International. The term and use are not a part of Toastmasters International, nor has that slogan been a part of Toastmasters International. It's a service mark used to describe Dave Smith's journey as he continues to improve his speaking, presentation, and delivery, built on a solid foundation based on the principles of Toastmasters International. Dave is not a "Distinguished Toastmaster," nor has he received the accolades that many Toastmasters have received at the level he has risen to. Hence, "not your typical ToastMaster.℠
When I think back to the first time I stood on stage I cringe. I knew nothing about crafting a deliberate first iimpression. My presentation strategy was haphazard at best. It didn't feel great.
I devoted hours to learning from the best presenters I knew. Today, I've given nearly 100 public presentations, many of which have led to new opportunities.
